Subject: "HIGH RES" MP4? What?
The MPEG2 file is bad. It's less than half horizontal DV res (352 X 480), and looks even worse than that would indicate.

The "HighRes MP4" is 320X240, and it also looks very bad, even worse than early YouTube videos. For some reason, it was created using a very high data rate, so the file is almost a gigabyte in size despite its low quality.

If you download this video, just get one of the smaller files. The larger files offer no visual benefit.

Subject: Wrong World's Fair...
These films were used for a PBS program about the New York World's Fair some twenty years ago with Jason Robards, Jr., providing the narration. That was a good show. I won't even comment on this...

Subject: I think this is a different World's Fair...
The film shows the Trylon (needle shape) and Perisphere, which were the symbols of the 1939-40 New York's World Fair. I have a lot of memorabilia from the 1939-40 San Francisco's World Fair (Golden Gate International Exposition), and the architecture in this clip (and part II) don't match.

Subject: The World's Fair is not MEANT to be boring!
Slightly boring overview of the 1939 World's Fair.. WHAT? I thought all of these were supposed to be interesting? Maybe I was wrong, because this has lots of lingering around statues and artwork, and makes it less interesting then it should be. Also, the fact that this film slows down in places definitely doesn't help. The only interesting parts of this were the 'live' statues that I'm sure were nude. I wonder what the stories of these were..
